Tango(rum) med en starr (2013-05-24)
En disig och lugn morgon = acro-morgon! Känslan var att det kändes väldigt hett och nu bara måste första starrsångaren komma in i nätet. Både acrocephalus i mångfald och den första starrsångaren satt i näten som väntat. Det var väldigt uppskattat utav Uno som åker imorgon, då detta var en utav hans målarter.
En annan målart han saknade var vattenhöna. Det löste sig på det dramatiska viset i form av att när näten skulle kollas kom en vattenhöna flygande under ett utav näten. Efter mycket hets och ett par försök i att fånga den, flög den sin kos men återfanns därefter i dammen intill märkplatsen.
Värt att nämna är förstås att vårens andra amursångare fångades. En mycket rolig dag som kommer bli svår att toppa!
I övrigt så besöktes Qinhuangdao för att bland annat frisera Bo och Marcus. Bo blev fin.

A misty and calm morning = acro-morning! The feeling was that it felt very good and now the first Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler just had to get into the net. Both acrocephalus in diversity and the first Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler sat in the nets as expected. It was very appreciated since Uno is leaving tomorrow, and this was one of his goal-species. Another species he missed was the White-breasted Waterhen. After a dramatic turn of event he got that species to. We were going to checj the nets when the water hen came flying under one of the nets. After a few attempts to capture it, it flew off but was rediscovered thereafter in the pond next to the ringing site.
Worth mentioning is of course that the spring's second Manchurian Reed Warbler was caught.
A very fun day that will be hard to match!
Except from the ringing a visit to Qinhuangdao was made, where Bo and Marcus got their hair cut. At least Bo’s hair turned out fine…
